Hand Quilting is a therapeutic and soothing activity. Don't be intimidated, it's easier than you think! This class will go over the basics of hand quilting, such as preparing your project and marking your designs. You can use a regular quilting thread (generally a 40 or 50 wt thread), or you can go chunkier and use a 12 wt thread, sashiko thread, or even embroidery floss!
Required to bring to class: Something SMALL to quilt! We have limited space for laying projects out so ask you keep it small. This will include the top, middle and bottom of your "quilt sandwich." The middle can be batting or felt, and the bottom is generally a piece of cotton fabric. I always use solid black to keep things simple, but you can put anything you want on the back.
Recommended tools: Needle and thread, basting safety pins, basting spray, marking pens, stencils, rulers.
All tools and supplies can be found in shop, and signing up for the class gives you a 15% discount on any purchases you make for class.
UPCOMING DATE: Friday, July 11 from 1-3 pm.
